im willing to live there...but the problem is....are there any
coffee shops that directly hires employees outside your country....tnx
for taking some time answering my query....
hi im from the philippines i work as a barista in one of the coffee
shops here for almost two years now....as far as i know the coffee
shop that ive been working with is the only shop that is concern
with latte art..what we're lacking is the training on how to roast
coffee beans....now my question is..is it possible to get a barista job
in the states?
I've been bored out of my mind at the shop. It's not me!..Atleast I dont think so. I'm always excited to work and jump on every chance of making a latte w/ some art.
I honestly think its the staff that I work with.Nobody really gives a crap and its just a job to to my co-workers.
Hell I would be still working, even if I got paid just minimum wage.

Well I had my first espresso shot today. I was expecting it to be sweet
and tasty like everyone describes but was I wrong... It was a double
shot and it was really bitter and the after taste was even worse. O
well I guess It's an accuried taste. Ill give it another try but not
anytime soon, lol.
Hello and again welcome to the Viva Barista website. As more and more people register up to be a Viva Barista Member (it's free) I will be sending out Viva cards to baristas to take around to shops in your city. Our goal is to reach out to the thousands of baristas out there that are not actively involved in conferences or competitions who want to meet other baristas and learn more about their craft. If you are interested log in and send an email through the contact page requesting to be a member of the Viva Barista Army. You will recieve a pack of 2"x2" Viva B cards to have in your shop and to hand out to your friends and other baristas in your community.
I fell into maaking coffee quite by accident. My friends had opened The Black Drop a few months earlier and had been making it known they would be needing their first barista sooner than they had expected.
I casually mentioned I thought being a barista would be a cool job, too bad i knew nothing of espresso making. They said I could be taught, I submitted my rsume' and here I am, almost three years later, stiil pulling shots and loving it.
I'm not a showy sort and i don't have the temperment to pull off competition performances, but my goal is to make espresso fit for competition for the everyday drinker.
